Dominykas DIGIMAS
A puppet and object theater performance based on the book of the same name by M. Marcinkevičius.
This play tells the story of Magdė, a young girl whose family was exiled to Siberia at the end of World War II. With the help of her teacher, a partisan, Magdė finds refuge in a bunker and becomes a partisan herself, saving many lives. The narrative draws from the memories of witnesses and freedom fighters, historical accounts, and the story of a former partisan liaison who lived in a bunker with partisans.
The performance explores the courage and survival instincts of children in critical situations. Despite the difficult personal experiences and historical context, the story remains warm and witty. Magdė, forced to grow up overnight, confesses to a carved Rūpintojėlis that she is a great coward. Yet, she bravely embraces her new reality and the unknown, proving that courage isn't the absence of fear, but the act of facing it.
