About this event

Performers: Lithuanian chamber orchestra (Artistic Director and Conductor Sergej Krylov) Soloist MAAYAN LICHT (countertenor, Israel) Conductor MODESTAS PITRĖNAS

The program features opera arias by George Frideric Handel, Antonio Vivaldi, Geminiano Giacomelli, Georges Bizet, as well as Concerto grosso by George Frideric Handel, and symphonies by Antonio Vivaldi and Joseph Haydn.

"One of the absolute stars of the international opera scene" ("Ruhr Nachrichten") – this is how the owner of a rare male voice, countertenor or sopranist from Israel, Maayan Licht, is described.

Having won the "Best Newcomer" title at the "Oper! Awards 2025", the soloist is recognized as one of the most interesting rising voices in opera today. Known as the "modern Farinelli", M. Licht is famous for performing roles that almost no one else sings, combining vocal virtuosity with emotional depth. Alongside his stage career, he has become a social media phenomenon, introducing classical music and opera to new audiences worldwide; with hundreds of thousands of followers on Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook, and millions of views. He has earned exceptional critical acclaim for his performances in operas and concerts. These include the title role in Handel's "Serse", Cherubino in Mozart's "The Marriage of Figaro", Achilles in Nicola Porpora's "Ifigenia in Aulide", the role of Herodias' daughter (Salome) in Alessandro Stradella's oratorio "San Giovanni Battista", the soprano part in Johann Christian Bach's cantata "Amor vincitore", and many others.

The singer appears on the stage of the Lithuanian National Philharmonic with the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra and its artistic director, maestro Modestas Pitrėnas. The program will feature opera arias and instrumental works by George Frideric Handel, Antonio Vivaldi, Geminiano Giacomelli, Georges Bizet, and Joseph Haydn.
