On July 2 at 7 p.m., the painting exhibition "Windows to the World" by artist Anna Reviakina will open at the Vilnius Town Hall. A meeting with the author will take place on the opening evening.
The exhibition presents the artist's latest paintings, in which the metaphor of the window, the sky, and the gaze into the world becomes significant. The works invite the viewer not only to observe images of light, clouds, dawn, or dusk, but also to experience subtle emotional states, premonitions, and internal changes.
Art critic Vaidilutė Brazauskaitė-Lupeikienė, introducing the artist's work, emphasizes that A. Reviakina's paintings are not limited to the impression of a sky landscape. According to her, it is an attempt to touch the metaphysics of existence, the unknowable but constantly alluring world.
"Each of our gazes into the world through a window is different – thoughts, feelings, and moods change. Every time we look through a window, or an imaginary window, we see a different world," notes V. Brazauskaitė-Lupeikienė.
A. Reviakina began her professional path in the field of architecture, studied at the Vilnius Academy of Arts, but has consistently worked in the field of fine arts throughout her creative career. Her work highlights a strong foundation in drawing, a sensitive line, and layered painting, which allows for the creation of an impression of space, depth, and three dimensions.
In recent years, the artist has been creating a large-scale painting cycle, the works of which have been exhibited at the "Godo" gallery, the "Stadium" gallery, and the attic space of the Bernardine Church. The exhibition presented at the Vilnius Town Hall continues this creative phase and opens new painted "windows to the world" in the historic city space.
