WIKI-PIANO
2026.09.13 | SUNDAY | Sapieha Palace
16:30 tour
17:00 concert
Pianist, composer, and technology researcher Zubin Kanga is a leading international figure exploring how artificial intelligence, motion sensors, and hybrid instruments expand the performer's identity. Having premiered over 170 works at major music festivals (BBC Proms, Gaudeamus Festival, Klang Festival, and many others), the artist presents the program WIKI-PIANO at the festival. Here, technology acts not as an external tool, but as a living, constantly changing extension of our reality, reacting to the integrally shifting forms of real and virtual worlds.
The program features three compositions: the iconic composition Wiki-Piano.Net by Alexander Schubert (GER) – an interactive work for piano and the internet community, with a score that constantly changes based on the wiki webpage principle*. Ben Nobuto's (UK) audiovisual composition "The Art of Sinking" explores changes in the human subconscious under conditions of virtuality. The program is conceptually complemented by the premiere of Lukas Butkus' (LT) work "Anatomy of Melancholy" for piano and video, in which the historical theme of melancholy is mediated through internet artifacts and post-ironic digital fragmentation.
