In this State Small Theatre of Vilnius production, the audience will see a sentimental retro-style melodrama based on the play by American playwright William Gibson. Written in 1958, this work earned the author a prestigious Tony Award and has since attracted the attention of theatres around the world due to its timeless theme and excellent material for showcasing acting mastery.
They cling to each other as if grasping at a last hope, yet they expect different things from one another. Subtle nuances of male-female relationships, sharp dialogues, and biting humor will immerse the theatregoer in an atmosphere reminiscent of 1960s films and allow them to enjoy the excellent performances of actors Indrė Patkauskaitė and Mantas Vaitiekūnas.
"The very title 'Two for the Seesaw' encodes the meaning: a 'game for two', the initial state of Yin and Yang, woman and man," says the play's director Ulanbek Baialiev.
