With a visitor ticket, you will be able to independently visit the exhibition at the National Protected Areas Visitor Centre.
The National Protected Areas Visitor Centre is like a gateway to Lithuania's protected areas. The exhibition will help you understand what needs to be protected and why, and why nature conservation is becoming increasingly important for humanity. Here, you can find information about the most valuable areas from a natural perspective, choose nature routes, and travel around our country.
The visitor centre's exhibition is interesting not only for its content but also surprises with its visual solutions. Upon entering, the visitor feels as if they are surrounded by nature: all around are grasses, birds, grasshoppers, and when you look up – clouds. You can imagine that you are in a meadow or a forest, feeling, touching, listening...
Every guest can get acquainted with the system of protected areas, learn that there are 5 national and 30 regional parks in Lithuania, 3 state nature reserves and 2 cultural reserves, about 400 sanctuaries, and more than 800 state-protected natural heritage objects.
The exceptional value of national and regional parks and reserves is illustrated not only by images but also by concrete objects. In the cinema hall – a bat habitat – you can watch films and listen to mysterious sounds of nature.
Terminals provide information about the wonders of protected areas, helping to discover special places in Lithuania.
