'Divine Michelangelo' – that is the name of this wonderful combination of dramatic, operatic, artistic, and poetic mastery – a subtle, sincere, sensual, and poetic work created by the extraordinary Kaunas theatre director and actor Aleksandras Rubinovas!
The hero of the new work is a great genius sent to us from the Heavens – Michelangelo Buonarroti!
His life, complex and unusual love affairs, sincere poetry, and, of course, unique work form the basis of this exceptional spiritual feast, inspired by a team of extraordinary artists endowed with broad creative talents: the dynamic acting is masterfully performed by the wonderful actress Daiva Škelevaitė, and Benjamin Britten's vocal cycle 'Seven Sonnets of Michelangelo', rarely heard in concert halls due to the extreme complexity of the vocal technique, is masterfully performed by opera tenor Mindaugas Zimkus, accompanied by the talented pianist Paulė Gudinaitė, who also performs works by other composers!
The stage action is enriched by ingenious video projections that effectively convey the genius's creations, his paintings, and sculptures! Of course, the creators of this unique spiritual feast for the soul and eyes are very grateful to the poet Violeta Šablinskaitė, who wonderfully translated these sincere sonnets of the Great Messenger of Heaven to humanity – Michelangelo – from the old Italian language!
Hurry, only 45 lucky ones will have the opportunity to witness this unforgettable cultural event! To mark this occasion, after the performance, there will be an opportunity to interact with all the participants of the play, ask questions, and enjoy drinks specially brought for this anniversary from the country where the Great Genius created his works!

Michelangelo Buonarroti (1475–1564) was a divine Italian sculptor, artist, architect, poet, and thinker. One of the greatest masters of the Renaissance and early Baroque, he is considered the true 'father of the Baroque' in architecture.
His works were considered the highest achievements of Renaissance art even during his lifetime. Michelangelo lived for almost 89 years – an entire era from the High Renaissance to the origins of the Counter-Reformation. Thirteen popes reigned during that period, and Michelangelo carried out commissions for nine of them.
Many documents about his life and work have survived – testimonies of contemporaries, Michelangelo's own letters, contracts, and personal and professional notes. Michelangelo was also the first Western European artist whose biography was published while he was still alive.
Among his most famous sculptural works are 'David', 'Bacchus', 'Pietà', and the statues of Moses, Leah, and Rachel for the tomb of Pope Julius II.
We remind you that the performance will be in Lithuanian and Italian.
