"GROOVE" explores the primal human desire to move to music, connecting contemporary choreography, club, and street dance within pop culture. Choreographer Jonas Frey draws on hip-hop culture philosophy to examine how familiar movements and recognizable music can evoke personal memories and collective rhythms.
Presented as part of the international hip-hop dance and culture festival Urban Essentials 2026 and the Vilnius City Dance Theatre LOW AIR anniversary program, this work bridges traditional and non-traditional performance spaces. It offers a focused look at how personal rhythm and movement transform through sound, silence, and dance fragments.
