On Thursday, July 30th, at 7 PM, the Kirtimai Culture Center will host a concert by the Riga-based band "Tribes of the City," who blend shoegaze and dreampop styles in their music. They will be preceded by guitarist and singer Dominyka Mauliūtė.
"Tribes of the City" is a shoegaze/dreampop band from Riga, Latvia. Since their formation in 2003, "Tribes of the City" have released five albums, won numerous Latvian music awards, and in 2020, they were awarded the prestigious "Austra" prize for their album "Rust and Gold." This album was also nominated for the IMPALA "European Independent Album of the Year" award, and in 2026, the band released the album "Evidence of Embrace."

Dominyka Mauliūtė is a nineteen-year-old guitarist, singer, and composer. With over ten years of guitar playing experience, she has won numerous first-place and "Grand Prix" awards in music competitions and festivals.
Her electric guitar performance of the jazz piece "D-natural blues" by Wes Montgomery garnered hundreds of thousands of views in a short time, putting her on the map of promising young-generation musicians.
Beyond music, she is deeply interested in philosophy – in 2024, she became the first-place winner and gold medalist of the Lithuanian Philosophy Olympiad and represented Lithuania at the International Philosophy Olympiad in Helsinki, where she earned an Honorable Mention.
Dominyka recently released the album "Cheetah '67," and at the concert at KCC, she will perform a solo show, during which she will perform her own songs with guitar and vocals.
