Tour "Sacred and Changing: The Heritage of Vilnius Monasteries"

Tour + concert!

There is no place in Vilnius Old Town from which you cannot see at least one church! Their entire quarters and towers not only shape the unique face of Vilnius but have also determined the city's character. During this walk, we will get to know monasteries and sacred spaces that are changing their face, undergoing transformation, and opening up to the city with new stories.

We will start the walk on the Hill of the Savior, next to the Missionary Church gracefully reaching for the sky. We will visit the currently operating Convent of the Sisters of Merciful Jesus, travel along Našlaičių Street and hear its special history, stop at Bokšto Square, where the Sisters of Charity were located, and at the Church of the Comforter (Ramintoja) near the former Augustinian monastery.

The tour will end at St. Casimir's Church, where a free live music concert of the "Kristupas Festival" will take place that evening. More information at kristupofestivalis.lt

Meeting place: the lawn in front of the Missionary Church, Subačiaus St. 28, Vilnius.

Duration: about 1 hour 30 minutes.
