In the cramped, catacomb-like exhibition space, as you travel through a labyrinth of exhibits, playful illustrations, and interactions, you will get acquainted with the main pilgrimage routes that have led for centuries to three cities: Jerusalem, the place of Christ's death and resurrection; Rome, where both great apostles St. Peter and St. Paul are buried; and Santiago de Compostela, to the tomb of St. James the Great.
You will hear the story of how Christian pilgrimage was born, why these three places are the most popular among pilgrims, and you will also learn various interesting facts related to the journey: pilgrim attire, the dangers that awaited them, the cult of holy relics, the tradition of celebrating Jubilee years, and the most famous pilgrims from the GDL.
