This is the second joint creative work by Teatro Del Paso and Trio Unique. Tango and emigrants are inseparable. Emigrants from Europe had a significant impact on the emergence and development of this genre. The Spanish Habanera and Flamenco, the German bandoneon, which has now become one of the symbols of tango, and the longing melodies and songs of the Italians.
And the passionate tango dance emerged as a refuge for lonely emigrants who missed their homes and love. Most of the first tango dancers were immigrants looking for a sense of belonging and an opportunity for social interaction. The dance became a way to express the passions, longing, and connection that were missing in their daily lives. The dance also helped them communicate with each other, despite language barriers.
A performance about the experiences of emigrants in a foreign land and the influence of those experiences on the development of this wonderful genre.
