Summer Moods

On the evening of September 3rd, the "Summer Moods" stage will host one of Lithuania's most subtle jazz duos, CinAmono: Laura Budreckytė and Vytis Nivinskas.

After a year in California and touring the United States, the musicians are returning to Vilnius with new energy.

The foundation of the CinAmono sound is voice and double bass. With only two instruments, every pause, intonation, and improvisational turn becomes exceptionally clear. Laura and Vytis improvise extensively on stage, exchanging musical ideas and extracting a surprisingly broad sound from their minimalist setup – from quiet, almost chamber-like episodes to theatrical and rhythmically free improvisations.

The duo has been active for over a decade, and an important part of their work consists of Lithuanian poetry. Their latest album, "Duo," features nine compositions based on texts by seven Lithuanian poets: Vytautas Mačernis, Salomėja Nėris, Jonas Mekas, Valdemaras Kukulas, Liudvikas Jakimavičius, Tautvyda Marcinkevičiūtė, and Artūras Valionis.

The concert on September 3rd will also feature audience favorites such as "Liuku Liuku," "Mano vasara," and other CinAmono pieces from different periods of their work.

"Summer Moods" festival concerts take place in the intimate space of the Carmelite Monastery garden at the Gates of Dawn, which opens to only one hundred listeners. On the evening of September 3rd, only two instruments—voice and double bass—will resonate under the open sky, and the small garden space will allow every pause, intonation, and spontaneous improvisation to be heard up close.

Before the concert, listeners are invited to an aperitif in the garden. The aperitif is not included in the ticket price, and the number of places is limited, so advance registration by phone is required: +370 621 77016.
