Invisible Stories
The play "Spektras" invites us to look closely at our differences – the ability to see, hear, and feel the world differently. Created based on the principles of the "Atviras ratas" theatre laboratory, the play is based on real people's stories and improvisations born during rehearsals, incorporating storytelling aspects, and invites us to stop and see the stories we often overlook. To listen to voices we do not hear in everyday life.
Director Justas Tertelis, the actors, and the entire creative team, while exploring the unique worlds of people living in neurodiversity, invite us to see neurotypical people from a different perspective – to expand our vision and rethink the boundaries of normality. In the play "Spektras", we will experience a whole palette of stories that will help dissolve stereotypes about autistic people and get to know the world around us more deeply.
The play is based on the book "Autizmas – dalis manęs" by Jurgita Žalgirytė-Skurdenienė and Barbora Suisse. This book is likely the first in Lithuania to present the stories of autistic adults, allowing for a better understanding of the daily life of a person living with autism spectrum disorder – the challenges that arise and the ways to overcome them.
