About this event

The play's action between a man and a woman takes place in the capital of Lithuanian resorts - Palanga, and the plot situations are surprising and force one to laugh incessantly.

From the lips of the man, who later turns out to be a real womanizer who changes his names every time and even forgets his mistresses, flow fantasies and lies, sweet words of courtship, and the goal is one - to lure a different woman into bed each time. At the same time, the plot revolves around fundamental values – love, close connection, respect, openness to each other, and all this is presented through the prism of emotions and laughter.

To convey all these feelings, director D. Kazlauskas and his team chose a truly original form, and the variety of situations is engaging and extremely playful. Watching this play, from time to time one can even identify with the actors and inadvertently feel that we have experienced similar situations and experiences in our youth ourselves.

This makes the play even more lively. And besides, throughout the entire play, the audience is also involved in comic situations - there was interaction with the audience, and the whole hall sang popular Lithuanian hits of that era together with the actors.

"I haven't seen such an engaging and cheerful play in a long time. There was a lot of intrigue and laughter, and the situations were thought-provoking and made one immerse oneself in the plot of the play. In addition, all this was enlivened by the popular Lithuanian pop songs that sounded in the play," shared his first impressions Vladas, the grandson of the legendary Lithuanian basketball coach Vladas Garastas, who watched the play in Palanga.

"The people of Palanga were the first to see this play of ours. A premiere is always like an exam to see if the idea worked out. I think we passed this exam. We, the whole team: Lina Rastokaitė, Renata Kutinaitė, Andrius Povilauskas, and I wrote and created this work, I think our idea worked out. The audience proved that during the premiere - as far as we could see, they had fun, and we had an incredibly good time too," said D. Kazlauskas immediately after the premiere.

He stated that Palanga was chosen for the play not by accident.

In short, this is a 'Resort Romance' that could have happened 30-50 years ago, and which can happen now. That desire to be in the time of one's parents, one's youth, one's childhood, in those songs - is wonderful. It's very cool that there were so many people at the premiere who, when they were young, really listened to these songs. You saw for yourselves that everyone sang those songs along with us. People simply merged into the plot of the play and became part of the performance," rejoiced D. Kazlauskas.

He was seconded by actress L. Rastokaitė: "Fantastic audience. I have never seen such a fantastic audience in Palanga, who reacted from the very beginning of the play, the whole hall was simply singing."

D. Kazlauskas, who returned to the theater stage just last year after a 12-year break, stated that the connection with people, seeing how they react here and now - is wonderful.

"You see how heated and red I am after the play. Theater is very alive and emotional. There is a partner next to you, that is a special thing. The premiere of this play was a day of trials for us, and I think that with time this play will be even better. We need a little time to calm down, to distribute our strength where it is needed, and it will only be more fun for the viewers with each of our performances. Residents of Vilnius, Kaunas, and other cities can already prepare for our performances - we will come to them too," emphasized the director of the play 'Resort Romance', D. Kazlauskas.
