And although the most famous site in Rasos is the Rasų Cemetery, this time we will explore Rasos without it – we will look for much less known places. It is the surroundings of Rasos that are often mentioned in stories about pagan times in Lithuania, and the very name of the district is believed to commemorate the gatherings that took place there during the summer solstice.
Here, there is an impressive, entire quarter of residential houses built before the First World War that has remained almost untouched by wars, destruction, or modern construction, as well as stunningly beautiful Baroque churches in Vilnius that were disfigured by the Soviets, next to which monks and nuns once lived. There are places that remind one of the book "The Secret Garden", rose gardens straight out of fairy tales, unexpected city panoramas, stories speaking through cracks in the walls, and creative people even bring the city's history into their own homes!
