"Kosmoso medis" – a performance created by you
We invite you to a sensitive sensory performance of scents and sounds, "Kosmoso medis," adapted for visually impaired audiences as well. This is a fairy tale about anger – a feeling familiar to everyone, which sometimes grows so large that it begins to control our thoughts, words, and actions. But can anger change? Can we learn to hear one another and choose closeness instead of exclusion? There is no traditional stage in the performance for you to watch from the sidelines. All audience members sit blindfolded, so the performance takes place in your imagination and mind. Here, scents, voices, silence, and sounds emitted by everyday household objects create a special sonic universe. With your eyes closed, you will be able to hear more: your own thoughts, another person's voice, the ringing of objects, and the echo of emotions. You will feel how powerful anger can be and how every word, action, or feeling of ours leaves a trace around us – like a butterfly effect or the flutter of a bee's wing that can affect the entire universe.
The text of the performance, based on Saulė Degutytė's fairy tale "Kvepiantis medis," was woven by playwright Audra Baranauskaitė from Lithuanian folk wisdom and proverbs. We are a tiny particle in an infinite universe. Our life lasts only a moment, so it is worth learning to hear one another, to seek closeness and mutual connection rather than conflict. Similarities and connections, rather than differences.
"Kosmoso medis" is an invitation to pause, listen, feel, and together discover the possibility to change and grow.
