A young man is pacing in a small Texas jail cell. Unexpectedly, his cry is heard by a girl working in the prison kitchen. Even where love seems impossible, two hearts find each other. The young people believe, dream, and strive for a better life. Are their dreams destined to come true?
William Saroyan (1908–1981) – a renowned Armenian-American writer, awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 1940 – masterfully conveys the comedies and tragedies of everyday life in his works, revealing the joy of living and the goodness of ordinary people's souls. The author's masterful command of vernacular language makes the characters authentic and vivid.
