Dive into the stories of the Vilnelė! Environmental education for children
We invite children to experience an exceptional adventure – to embark on an educational session about the Vilnelė river! Traveling along the riverbank or, depending on weather conditions, wading through the river, children aged 7–12 will explore the ecosystem thriving in the Vilnelė (plants, fish, birds), check water quality, and develop environmental skills while gaining hands-on experience. Little explorers will also learn what log driving is and try their hand at the work of log drivers themselves.
This creative and engaging session will not only remain in children's memories for a long time but will also shape their responsible attitude towards nature and the entire surrounding environment.
These educational sessions are organized in July–August 2026. You will see the available dates and times for the sessions once you start the registration. One ticket – one group. We recommend registering at least 3 working days before the education; otherwise, the organizers reserve the right to cancel/reschedule it.
Starting point of the education – A. Mickevičius Monument (Maironio St.).
Ending point of the education – Bernardine Garden.
Duration of the education – up to 90 min.
Minimum number of participants in the session – 8, maximum number of participants – 23.
Depending on weather conditions, during the education, children may wade through a short section of the river (in safe and pre-checked areas of the river).
We recommend wearing comfortable clothing during the education.
It is MANDATORY TO HAVE WATER SHOES for the session.
When arriving for the excursion, you must have the event ticket printed or saved on your phone.
If your plans change and you wish to cancel your reservation, please inform us as early as possible via email at ruta@gatvesgyvos.lt.
