On November 7, the Vilnius Polish Culture House company "GrandStage" will present a play based on Ron Elisha's play "Be moters, kurią myliu" (Without the Woman I Love).
The night of December 9-10, 1936. The residence of the King of Great Britain – Fort Belvedere. Europe is on the threshold of great upheavals, and the premonition of an impending catastrophe hangs in the air.
Marlene Dietrich has arrived in London – a global star, a woman known for her exceptional intelligence, strong and femininely attractive. Rumors have reached her that King Edward VIII is prepared to abdicate the throne because he loves the American Wallis Simpson.
The consequences of this choice could be irreversible and transcend the boundaries of private life – determining the fates of millions of people and upsetting the fragile balance of the world. Knowing this, Marlene takes a desperate step: she will try to stop Edward!
On the eve of the abdication, Marlene goes to Fort Belvedere. Throughout the night, an intense dialogue takes place between the actress and the king, an intellectual and emotional duel. This is a story about the choice between duty and passion, about the power of personality, and the cost of decisions that change the course of history.
