MILK POWDER I Inga Dinga's photography exhibition

About this event

Photographer Inga Dinga's exhibition "Milk Powder" invites you to open up this very behind-the-scenes side of photography. The exhibition presents a dialogue between a dozen cameras and the photographs created with them. Next to each work, the viewer will find the tool with which it was created. The exhibited cameras do not aim to tell a consistent evolution of technology, but rather reveal a variety of experiences and forms.

Here, iconic, professional, and toy or homemade tools meet; among them are the massive, precise Mamiya RB67, the elegant folding Polaroid SX-70, the palm-sized Rollei 35 LED, a unique custom-built camera with a Zodiac-8 fisheye lens, the MO pinhole camera created in Lithuania, the hipster Diana F+, and even an old Sony smartphone.

The photographs exhibited together do not form a series of a unified genre or aesthetic – they differ in style, color palette, format, and choice of subject. This diversity testifies that a camera is not just a neutral box for capturing an image. Its capabilities, peculiarities, limitations, and sometimes even flaws become an inseparable part of the author's vision. It is a certain modus operandi – a specific creative signature born from the synthesis of personal vision and the camera's character.

A meeting with the author will take place on September 7 at 7 PM.

The exhibition is on display from August 31 to September 13. Admission is free.

Inga Dinga is a Vilnius-based photographer whose work focuses primarily on analog and pinhole photography, experimental forms of image creation, and multi-layered narratives that balance between reality and imagination. The author actively participates in Lithuanian and international exhibitions; this is her ninth solo exhibition. Inga's work has been published in various publications and presented in Italy, Germany, Spain, Portugal, the USA, Argentina, Australia, and other countries. In 2013, Inga Dinga became one of the founders of the Lithuanian Analog Photography Association (LAFA), and in 2019, she became a member of the Press Photographers Club of the Lithuanian Journalists Union.
