Once, after playing the synthesizer, I realized that sound can engage the entire being - not just capture attention, but also briefly distract from the all-encompassing anxious noise often broadcast by the outside world.
In my creative practice, I let the sonic material loop until something emerges that was neither in the material itself nor in my thoughts. Those peculiar ghosts - mystical, poetic echoes of existence - are what drive the piece forward.
"Baltoji Rožė" - a piece for synthesizer and piano from the album "Geografinės Būsenos" - is one where I still hear this method most clearly. The piano part appeared after the synthesizer suggested it - long before Tomas recorded it; the mobile phone interference heard in the piece happened during the recording when a call came in from Lina. Including the piece in the album, I felt it held potential for new iterations in the future - one of which is this concert.
Works already familiar to PDM listeners will be played, along with unheard pieces, and some beautiful guests will join to perform others (names will emerge soon).
Come to listen, to experience the relaxing flow of time and the warmth of people who are listening.
