Opera for babies "Baroko paukštė" ("Baroque Bird") is a sensitive musical experience for the youngest viewers and their parents. In this performance, Baroque music meets movement, imagination, and the sensory world of theater. The performance invites babies and adults to experience music not as a concert, but as a living, intimate, and playful encounter.
An environment saturated with light, fabrics, and bird symbolism is created on stage, where music, singing, movement, and acting merge into one common narrative. Sitting close to the performers, the audience can freely react, move, and explore sound and space.
"Baroko paukštė" was created by the independent theater "No Shoes" in collaboration with the Lithuanian National Philharmonic. It is one of the first attempts in Lithuania to create a professional opera genre work for babies: adapted to their senses, rhythm, and emotional world.
The performance features adapted arias from the operas of George Frideric Handel, Alessandro Scarlatti, Nicola Porpora, and Johann Adolph Hasse. The music is arranged to maintain the beauty of the Baroque while remaining close to the sensitive world of the little listeners.
Attention! A ticket is required for the little viewer as well. The creation of the performance is funded by the Lithuanian Council for Culture. Recommended age: 0–3 years.
