About this event

Admission with free tickets, which will be distributed at the Skalvija box office on the day of the screening. "In 2020, during the lockdown, I became obsessed with recording everything around me. A few months later, as my mental health deteriorated, I decided to check into a psychiatric hospital. I honestly didn't expect that obsessive-compulsive disorder would become the pretext for creating a collective audio documentary there," says author Violette Gitton about how it all began. This work, recorded at the clinic where Violette was treated, is an audio journey into the daily lives of patients in a psychiatric ward. Their testimonies and life stories raise questions about the stereotypes and clichés often associated with mental disorders and invite us to rethink what vulnerability is. Created from nearly thirty hours of recordings, this polyphonic collective narrative encourages reflection on tolerance, mental health, and the role of treatment facilities. N-13 In French with Lithuanian subtitles. Violette Gitton is a filmmaker and director. In addition, she ensures the physical and emotional safety of minor actors on film sets and consults with film crew members working with them. "Disaster. Level Two" is her first audio documentary. Best Audio Documentary, Prix Europa Festival, 2025. Best Audio Documentary, Prix Italia Festival, 2025. Special Mention for precise directorial quality, Longueurs d’Ondes Festival, 2025. The listening session is part of the new training and mentorship program "LRT Radio Academy". After the listening session, there will be a conversation with documentary author Violette Gitton about her experience creating an audio story based on personal experiences.
