Naujasis teatras presents! Mystery play "Alter Ego"

Alter Ego is our "other self", our good side, our conscience, our guide. He appears in the form of an angel and addresses the audience with wise words, constantly emphasizing that the worst thing is "...when we have eyes but do not see, have ears but do not hear". The play begins with the coming to life of P. Breugel's painting "The Blind" (1586), as the blind, holding onto a rope, begin their journey. Together with them, the audience will immerse themselves in the feelings experienced by the Elephant Man, a person who actually lived – John Merrick (b. 1862). He experienced human indifference, as well as compassion. The characters of the play gradually free themselves from spiritual mankurtism, discovering their calling, path, and purpose. The world is wonderful, magical, and sacred again, like the final "living painting" – M. K. Čiurlionis's "Tale of the Kings".
