The New Theatre presents! Mystery play "Alter Ego"
Alter Ego is our "other self", our good side, our conscience, our guide. It appears in the form of an angel and addresses the audience with wise words, constantly emphasizing that the most terrible thing is "...when we have eyes but do not see, we have ears but do not hear". The play begins with the coming to life of P. Bruegel's painting "The Blind" (1586), when the blind, holding onto a rope, begin their journey. Together with them, the audience will immerse themselves in the feelings experienced by the Elephant Man, a person who actually lived – Joseph Merrick (b. 1862). He experienced human indifference, and at the same time, mercy. The characters of the play gradually free themselves from spiritual mankurtism, discovering their calling, path, and purpose. The world is once again wonderful, magical, and sacred, like the final "living painting" – M. K. Čiurlionis's "The Tale of the Kings".
