"Mystery of Musical Masks. Sketch" is a project of the musical theatre study program, continuing the theme of the mask and scenic transformation. Musical works of different character and style merge with movement, light, sound space, and painting. Between these artistic languages, a unique world is born, where what is familiar can unexpectedly take on a different form.
The mask here does not just hide the face. Having abandoned everyday expression, it highlights body language, allowing for a different look at human states and what often remains unspoken. Movement does not illustrate the music – it extends it, giving the sound form, internal and emotional expression. Sometimes the slightest gesture, pause, or silence is enough to open up a new meaning.
The creative axis of this mystery is the sketch. It is an unfinished thought, a spontaneous brushstroke, an intermediate moment when the idea has already been born, but its outcome is still unknown. Each musical story leaves its own color, mood, and trace. They layer, merge, and become part of the painting – a visible sign of what usually disappears with the last sound.
"Sketch" is not just a predictable story. For one, it may become a memory; for another, a premonition, a question, or an as-yet-unnamed feeling.
Can what sounds and disappears remain visible?
Perhaps the answer lies on the canvas. Or perhaps – in the viewer's memory.
