On September 4 at 6 PM, the exhibition "The Earth Speaks to the Sky" by Morta Jonynaitė opens at the spaces of Panerių g. 38 in the capital.
This is an exhibition of woven conversations and textile addresses, in which the artist tells of intimate and time-consuming communication processes. Like an attentive anthropologist, M. Jonynaitė records the memories of loved ones and the rumors of distant people, not allowing very common archaic experiences to sink into oblivion: the desire to be together and to understand one another. Having translated these narratives into sculptural and textile objects and installations, the artist explores in them the attempt to communicate between different generations, ideological regimes, linguistic registers, time zones, existence and non-existence, earth and sky.
