Few musicians have changed the sound of jazz as many times as Miles Davis. From cool jazz and modal experiments to electric fusion – Miles was constantly searching for a new direction, and each new stage of his work left a distinct mark on entire generations of musicians.
Jazz Cellar 11 invites you to an evening dedicated to one of the most influential and easily recognizable voices in jazz history.
The band leader, guitarist Deimantas Balys, has already presented a Miles Davis music program on the Jazz Cellar 11 stage. However, this time he promises to dive deeper into Miles' later creative period – a time when electric instruments, funk, rock, powerful grooves, and increasingly open musical forms fundamentally changed his musical language once again.
Instead of limiting itself to well-known classics, the program will offer a look at the bolder and more experimental side of Miles Davis' legacy – music whose driving force is rhythm, sound, the interaction between musicians, and the freedom to take risks.
As always in our "Tribute" concert series, the goal is not to imitate the legend, but to look at his music through the personalities of today's musicians.
An evening of groove, tension, space, electricity, and improvisation – and another journey into the constantly changing musical world of Miles Davis.
The first 30 tickets are cheaper.
The "Jazz Cellar 11" club's concert project is partially funded by the Vilnius City Municipality.
