A charity art auction for the restoration of the general instrument – the Merkinė organ.
During the auction, it will be possible to purchase works by famous artists, exotic curiosities, authentic works by creators from the Merkinė region, chat with the authors, and participate in a fun lottery.
All funds raised during the auction will be dedicated to the restoration process of the Merkinė organ.
During the break, guests will be able to enjoy complimentary drinks, and the performer Mesijus will dedicate his famous works to them!
The auction will be hosted and the passions of those gathered will be stirred by traveler Vytaras Radzevičius.
It was in Merkinė that Vilnius became a city, which was once adorned by the rulers of Lithuania — among them King Władysław Vasa, who is believed to have been laid in state in its old church. Today, King Vasa's house, named the "Small Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania," is being restored in Merkinė. The organ is the city's instrument, through which its spirit speaks. Ours is in a poor state: loose keys, a body eaten by woodworms, pipes riddled with bullets, and tired bellows. Specialists suggest making new ones or purchasing similar ones abroad. We are grateful for every bit of support!
