"Mallorca Preludes: Live" is a theatrical piano recital presenting the program of pianist Eglė Andrejevaitė's debut album, "Reflections Op. 28: Mallorca Preludes." It combines Frédéric Chopin's preludes with works by contemporary Spanish composers, creating a cohesive musical narrative.
This is not a traditional piano recital – the program is complemented by textual interludes and lighting dramaturgy, allowing the listener to experience the works as a consistent, emotionally unified artistic structure. The program reveals a dialogue between two eras – Romanticism and contemporary music – in which Chopin's music becomes a source of inspiration for 21st-century creators.
"Among the multitude of existing interpretations, Eglė Andrejevaitė's recording stands out for its original artistic concept." — Stefan Rütter, Deutschlandfunk
Following the international acclaim of her debut album "Reflections Op. 28: Mallorca Preludes" and concerts in Anykščiai, Paris, Brussels, and Birštonas, pianist Eglė Andrejevaitė invites you to the final concert of the international "Mallorca Preludes: Live" tour at St. Catherine's Church in Vilnius.
The program is based on one of the most significant works of piano music, Frédéric Chopin's Preludes Op. 28, and twelve contemporary works-reflections by Spanish composers, commissioned by the Chopin Festival in Valldemossa. This original dramaturgical concept creates a dialogue between the 19th and 21st centuries, between the tradition of Romanticism and contemporary creation.
The album "Reflections Op. 28: Mallorca Preludes" was released by the international classical music label "Challenge Records International." It received international attention and was presented on the programs of national broadcasters in Lithuania, Germany, France, and Italy.
"Andrejevaitė demonstrates a deep respect for the Polish composer's world, bringing it into a living and contemporary reality." – Rafael-Juan Poveda Jabonero, RITMO
The origins of the program lie in the Valldemossa Charterhouse in Mallorca – the place where Frédéric Chopin composed the majority of his legendary preludes. It was there that the sheet music publication "24 Preludis per a Frédéric Chopin" was discovered, becoming the inspiration for the album and the concert program now being presented to Lithuanian and European audiences.
The concert at St. Catherine's Church in Vilnius will be the culmination of the entire international tour – a return to the city where the album was recorded and its artistic idea was consistently nurtured.
