Make Love - A musical play about sex (dir. G. Aleksa)

The winter season at the Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker once again promises the musical play about sex, "Make Love." This work by the "Teatronas" theater troupe, which has already become a cult classic, has become an inseparable part of this sacred space. We invite you!

"Make Love" speaks openly and directly about sex and examines the complications that arise in people's sex lives. Drawing on fiction, non-fiction, and consultations with sexologist Laura Butvilaitė, "Teatronas" invites you to a lively, bold discussion about topics that are still too often left unspoken. On stage, unspoken conversations, unexpressed desires, and consequences turn into loud songs without any hesitation.

"Our main goal is to want to hum what we are ashamed to talk about. But I have seen so many audience members with my own eyes that I can guarantee this play achieves goals I haven't even thought of. And another thing. I have a very strong suspicion that this play has contributed to Lithuania's demographic growth. Possibly," says the play's director Gildas Aleksa, inviting you to hum (un)comfortable songs together on December 15.

The director reveals that it is worth attending even for those who have already seen the play. Each performance is unique, so those who have been before will hear brand new pieces from the troupe. About sex, of course.

The venue where the play takes place also adds to the pleasure. The Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker is a space already proven by the Lukiškės Prison conversion for music and theater. This time, both arts naturally merge within it to enhance the viewer's experience.

Jokūbas Tulaba's music, Kristina Marija Kulinič's dramaturgical style, Agnietė Lisičkinaitė's approach to bodies moving on stage, and Gildas Aleksa's direction combine with actors Milda Naudžiūnaitė, Karolis Kasperavičius, Kasparas Varanavičius, and Kamilė Petruškevičiūtė. Songs written collectively by ALL these creators will be performed on stage. About sex. Everything that is sometimes too shy to talk about will now turn into the pleasure of humming.
