Performance in Polish
Konstantinas Čiurlionis (played by Sebastjan Kazakovskis) tells the story of his life. Or rather, he does not just tell it, but opens up his entire inner world. And it contains a wide spectrum of colors and shades, tones and sounds. He is an artist who sees the world in sounds, hears in colors, paints poetry, and feels and loves with his entire being, with every whisper of his sensitivity. Is that sensitivity not too much for that small, modest, and so sincere young man from Druskininkai? Could solitude have been a comfort? Or perhaps quite the opposite – was his escape from solitude into his everyday, normal world a salvation? After all, he had an incredible talent for forming and nurturing friendships and acquaintances, always cared about warm relationships with family and friends, and with his sincerity, kindness, dedication, and sense of humor, he was able to attract both the old and the young, the rich and the poor. And yet, solitude permeates his entire short life like a dark streak. The performance by the Vilnius Polish Theatre "Studio" is a monodrama intended to bring the personality of this prominent artist, whom we still know too little, closer to the audience.
