"I would like to compose a symphony from the rustling of waves, from the secret language of a century-old forest, from the twinkling of stars..." M. K. Čiurlionis
In the very heart of Vilnius Old Town, at the Lithuanian Artists' Association space, Vokiečių St. 4, the dreamlike world of M. K. Čiurlionis will open up for one evening – full of music, images, nature, and silence.
Pianist Darius Mažintas will perform M. K. Čiurlionis' symphonic poem "In the Forest," arranged for piano, along with several of the composer's preludes. Here, the music will become like a path – leading deeper, to where sound merges with memory and silence takes on its own color. Joining him on stage will be visual artist Rimas Sakalauskas. His video installation will be born in real-time, following the flow of the music. Motifs from M. K. Čiurlionis' paintings will shift, move, and come to life, creating a space where the clear boundary between music and image, reality and dream, disappears.
This is not a traditional concert, but a 60-minute experience – an invitation to pause for a moment, listen, and enter the forest. Into the silence of M. K. Čiurlionis. And perhaps – into yourself.
In Vilnius – only two evenings. Only 50 listeners for each.
