The "Lumina" light park in Vilnius invites you on a journey through the world of cinema
From October 23, the Vilnius University Botanical Garden in Kairėnai will shine again with the most beautiful lights. The "Lumina" park returns to this enchanting corner of the capital, inviting you this year to discover the world of cinema and meet well-known film and television series characters.
This year's "Lumina" park theme, "Cinema Magic," invites you to remember films, series, and cinema legends loved by different generations – from silent films to fantasy worlds and adventures that many recognize from just a single frame or melody. Traveling along a nearly 2 km path illuminated by more than 200 light installations, you will meet the legendary Charlie Chaplin, cinema icon Marilyn Monroe, greet James Bond and the characters from "Star Wars." Fans of humor can look forward to Mr. Bean, and the space inspired by the popular series "Friends" will become one of the most photogenic spots in the park. You will also recall the stories of Cinderella and "The Jungle Book" and embark on a mysterious journey with Captain Nemo.
This is just a part of what you will see this year at the VU Botanical Garden. Throughout the route, different cinema stories will follow one another, and the light installations will be complemented by music and sound effects created specifically for the park. This year, the creators of "Lumina" aim to make park visitors feel as if they have stepped into the vast world of cinema.
The harmony of light, music, and nature will be especially revealed after dark. The trees and plants of the VU Botanical Garden in Kairėnai will become natural decorations, and the entire walk will resemble an open-air film set. In the park, you will not only be able to explore the light installations but also enjoy hot drinks and snacks. As in previous years, you will be able to play a fun game on your mobile phone and win prizes.
