Lorita Tamulevičiūtė's "Light of Being": between landscape and abstraction

About this event

The LPC Art Gallery will begin exhibiting the painting exhibition "Light of Being" by artist Lorita Tamulevičiūtė starting August 26. In it, the author invites viewers to look at nature not only as a landscape but also as a reflection of human states, moods, and inner experiences.

Lorita Tamulevičiūtė creates mostly in nature and at plein air events – where space opens up, the horizon line is visible in the distance, and the changing light and colors dictate a different mood for each work.

"I like creating in nature and at plein air events, where there is plenty of space and the horizon line is visible from afar. I observe nature in different seasons, its mood, light, and interpret it in my own way. I look for unique color solutions," says L. Tamulevičiūtė about her work.

In the "Light of Being" exhibition, real images of nature meet abstract compositions, color, line, rhythm, and recognizable landscapes, as well as what the person themselves feels within them. The exhibition presents oil and acrylic paintings that reveal the author's broad creative spectrum – from specific nature motifs to abstractions inspired by them.

Lorita Tamulevičiūtė graduated from the Justinas Vienožinskis Art School, and in 1991, she completed her studies in fine arts at the Vilnius Academy of Arts. She worked for 24 years in the field of art pedagogy and art education and is a professional creator who participates in exhibitions.

Since 2016, the artist has been a member of the Secret Drawing Society. Constant studies of human body forms have opened up another space for her creative explorations.

Since 2022, L. Tamulevičiūtė has been a member of the Lithuanian Artists' Association and belongs to the watercolorists' section.

The artist has held eight solo exhibitions and has participated in joint exhibitions and plein air events in Lithuania and abroad with various groups of artists.

The opening of the "Light of Being" exhibition is on August 26 at 5:00 PM at the LPC Art Gallery, J. Matulaičio a. 3, Vilnius.

The exhibition will run until October 22, 2026.

The LPC Art Gallery is open to visitors every day from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
