From September 10, the LNDM Museum of Applied Arts and Design will invite you to discover 15 promising perspectives on future design at the "Young Designer Prize 2026" exhibition-competition.
The competition has been organized by the Vilnius Academy of Arts Design Innovation Centre since 2011. Over more than a decade, the initiative has become an important part of the Lithuanian design field, fostering student competitiveness, development, and helping them take their first steps in their professional careers. Alongside nominations and awards, an exhibition of the best competition works is organized annually, allowing creators to present their work outside the academic community.
This year, 91 applications were submitted for the competition. The exhibition presents 15 projects selected by an international jury – three each in the categories of product, communication, fashion, interior design, and design research.
The exhibition opening will take place on 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟭𝟬, 𝗧𝗵𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗮𝘁 𝟲 𝗣𝗠.
On Friday, September 11, at 2 PM, we look forward to seeing you at an educational workshop with one of the exhibition participants – Ringailė Demšytė (registration required). During the workshop, you will be able to get acquainted with 𝘗𝘩𝘺𝘴𝘢𝘳𝘶𝘮 𝘱𝘰𝘭𝘺𝘤𝘦𝘱𝘩𝘢𝘭𝘶𝘮 – a slime mold often used in biological and interdisciplinary research – and explore its potential in the fields of experimental design, biomaterials, and visual research.
