The Vilnius University Song and Dance Ensemble invites you to the Lithuanian and Ukrainian student fellowship concert "RESOUNDING FREEDOM" on October 17th, at 5:00 PM, at the National Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis School of Art Dance Theatre.
"In our sighs, She is seen and heard..."
Justinas Marcinkevičius
In the golden waves of rye and the clouds grazing in the azure meadow. In the blue of cornflowers blooming on the horizon. She responds in the words of songs learned in childhood and in dance steps. That which we guard so closely within ourselves begins to resound together.
This concert is about freedom—a freedom that is not subject to time, language, or borders, yet belongs to everyone.
During the concert, the Lithuanian program will feature works by Zita Bružaitė, Vytautas Juozapaitis, Juozas Gumauskas, Jonas Švedas, Gintaras Vilčiauskas, Vidas Aleksandravičius, the ensemble's artistic director Eugenijus Čiplys, and choir director Dovilė Mačiukaitė-Krasauskienė. We will see choreography by Laimutė Kisielienė, Tamara Kalibataitė, and ensemble directors Albertas Švelginas and Indrė Alaburdienė.
The second part of the concert will be dedicated to Ukrainian folk music, song, and dance, performed by guests from Lviv.
