The two-part crime story "The Pillowman" opens an interrogation process that depicts the grotesque and contradictory story of brothers Katurian (Matas Pranskevičius) and Michal (Lukas Auksoraitis). Writer Katurian's works – short stories full of masterful puzzles – turn out to have unlimited freedom and influence; they are powerful tools capable of fulfilling revenge and bringing death.

Directed by Ieva Stundžytė, "The Pillowman" is not a typical Keistuoliai Theatre production at first glance. "The Pillowman" breathes with the cruelty experienced by those born under an unlucky star. However, this is only a surface layer, beneath which lies lightness and purification.

The Pillowman was first presented by the National Theatre at the Cottesloe, London, directed by John Crowley, on 13 November 2003. The production was subsequently produced on Broadway by the National Theatre Robert Boyett Theatricals LLC and RMJF Inc. opening at the Booth Theatre, New York City, on April 10, 2005.
