The play for the whole family "The Little Hen and the Little Rooster" is a contemporary interpretation of a well-known story, turned into a game.
How do you tell a fairy tale? Can it be changed? Can traditional fairy tale characters be assisted by modern objects? Can a question as old as the world have a new answer? Could the little rooster have flown into space with a samurai sword, and the little hen's eye be protected by sunglasses?
Set and costume designer Ramunė Skrebūnaitė fulfilled a dream from her student years - to create a play where animated objects expand the space of adventure and become important participants in the events. Here, a girl and a boy fight for their right to believe in the fairy tale they remember. However, playing alone is not interesting. So, for the sake of a common game, the children begin to look for a compromise. On this path to friendship, they creatively learn about forgiveness, selflessness, and other things that are important not only for children.
"In the play, two adults frolic and fool around as freely as children," asserts actress Viola Klimčiauskaitė, and her colleague Dalius Skamarakas adds: "Life truths conveyed in the form of a game are more acceptable to children, so they find their way to their hearts faster."
The cheerful music of Andrius Kulikauskas and the simple, sincere lyrics of the songs will engage even the smallest viewers, and older children will willingly participate by advising the heroes in the face of challenges. "Keistuoliai" Theatre plays for children always stand out because they do not have a "fourth wall" - there is no invisible barrier separating the actors from the child watching them, and every word spoken by the little viewer creates the further mood of the play.
Parents who bring their children to the play will be able to remember once again during this dynamic, fun, and cozy performance how magical, vast, and colorful the world of every child - even the one still living inside us - is.
