A monospectacle by an average actor
N-33
(The play is created for viewers aged 33 and up. For younger audiences, not all themes may be understood or recognized)
"PRAeis" – a monospectacle for everyone who (does not) love the theater.
This engaging monospectacle, which has received awards at various theater festivals, invites everyone who comes to the theater this evening to look at what is usually hidden from the audience. The play does not leave the audience feeling alone and seeks to answer questions that often arise for viewers about the theater. If you have always been curious about how actors learn so much text, how they not only "enter" but also "exit" a role, what it feels like to perform in a "good" or "bad" play – this performance is definitely for you.
"The play 'PRAeis' reveals the joys and difficulties that an artist must endure to achieve the magic of the moment that we all love and cherish so much in the theater and expect from it. By inviting us into a gentle story about self-doubt, ambition, desires, and a love for theater and acting, 'PRAeis' is also a universal work about maturity, gaining experience, and establishing oneself in the (not just professional) world. Justas Tertelis presents the play honestly, bravely, and vulnerably, moving the audience but not shying away from entertaining them as well." - Jury of the International Theater Festival "Sirenos".
"...on stage, he is undoubtedly the actor-character of the play, but he is also the actor-human on stage." - Kristina Steiblytė, www.menufaktura.lt
"The Actor, as told by Tertelis, sensitively captures the everyday world - from taking children to kindergarten to discussions after the play. He describes in detail the emotions that arise while waiting for an award ceremony or performing in a bad play; he speaks lyrically, but with humor." - Aistė Šivytė, 7MD.lt
This monospectacle continues the theme of playwright Justas Tertelis's first play, "PRA – a one-act monoplay for a beginning actor." Only in the new work does the actor look at the relationship between theater and society no longer from the perspective of a beginner, but from that of an experienced, middle-aged theater creator. During a shared dialogue with the audience, reflecting on and questioning established beliefs about theater and culture in society, and exploring the paradoxical life situations of creators, Justas Tertelis invites us to ask ourselves together – why do we still go to the theater today? What kind of theater and culture do we really need?
The play is suitable for younger theater lovers as well, but it is created for viewers aged 33 and up.
