Julijus girdenis and vytautas straižys jazz quartet

On October 15, the Downtown Piano Lab stage will feature guitarist Julijus Girdenis, one of the most phenomenal performers of the young generation of Lithuanian jazz. It is not just his age that is surprising, but also his musical maturity, technical freedom, and an extraordinarily deep understanding of the language of jazz. Julijus plays as if he has spent several decades on stage: boldly, sensitively, confidently, and with a distinct musical character. He is an artist worth hearing now – at the very beginning of a great musical history. We have no doubt: this musician will become an absolute legend.

Joining Julijus on stage will be Vytautas Straižys, a pianist distinguished by his exceptional musical sensitivity and ability to create arrangements right there on stage. The quartet's sound will be given a solid foundation and a vibrant pulse by double bassist Aliaksey Kryshtal, who has international concert experience, and on drums, the versatile young-generation musician Jonas Filmanavičius.

Four performers. One stage. A living musical language where the most important elements are listening, spontaneity, and the true thrill of jazz.
