John Malkovich arrives in Vilnius with an exclusive stage project, "The Music Critic" – a performance where classical music meets biting humor, irony, and one of the most prominent actors of contemporary cinema.
What happens when the masterpieces of great composers fall under the gaze of the most ruthless music critics? Beethoven becomes too noisy, Brahms is hopelessly uninteresting, and even the classics of music history receive merciless and absurdly funny reviews.
Malkovich embodies an eccentric music critic on stage, facing off in a theatrical duel against exceptional classical musicians, including the project's creator Aleksey Igudesman and pianist Hyung-ki Joo. Live performances of music by Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin, Brahms, Debussy, Prokofiev, Piazzolla, and others form the foundation for an evening where respect for the classics does not prevent us from laughing at them.
"The Music Critic" is more than just a classical music evening. It is a theatrical, intellectual, and unexpected performance where music, acting mastery, and irony inspired by British humor merge into a single stage narrative.
And at the climax of the evening, the critic himself becomes the target – "The Malkovich Torment." Because even the most ruthless critic must sooner or later be criticized.
