Scott Kinsey, member of the legendary jazz group “Tribal Tech”, will perform in Lithuania

The “Scott Kinsey Group” brings together five prominent contemporary electric jazz performers: keyboardist Scott Kinsey, guitarist Max Light, bassist Hadrien Feraud, drummer Gergo Borlai, and vocalist Mer Sal.

The group will perform pieces from S. Kinsey’s new album “Thought Distortions”, as well as selected compositions from his previous work and music by Joe Zawinul and the group “Weather Report”. The concerts, based on rich rhythmic patterns (“groove”), electronic textures, spontaneous interaction, and free improvisation, combine the legacy of electric jazz with a modern, forward-looking sound.

Physical copies of the album “Thought Distortions” will be sold only at the concerts of this tour – even before the official release of the album to the general public. In November, these concerts will be the only place where it will be possible to purchase the new album and potentially have it signed by the Artist.

SCOTT KINSEY Keyboardist, composer, and producer Scott Kinsey is one of the most prominent figures in contemporary electric jazz. Best known for his 21-year tenure in the influential fusion group “Tribal Tech”, S. Kinsey was also a student, collaborator, and close musical partner of Joe Zawinul. His work combines complex improvisation, rich synthesizer textures, rhythmic explorations, and a lifelong pursuit of developing the electric jazz genre.

MAX LIGHT New York-based guitarist Max Light is one of the most acclaimed young improvisers in contemporary jazz. In 2019, he took second place in the Herbie Hancock Institute of Jazz International Guitar Competition and has developed a distinct musical style based on complex harmony, excellent technical mastery, and bold improvisation.
