Scott Kinsey, member of the legendary jazz group Tribal Tech, to perform in Lithuania
You can never have too many good jazz concerts! The new event series "Jazz'n'Vilnius" presents one of them: for the first time in Lithuania, renowned keyboardist, composer, arranger, producer, sound engineer, and long-time member of the legendary group Tribal Tech, Scott Kinsey, will perform with his project, the Scott Kinsey Group. Their only concert in our country as part of the European "Thought Distortions Tour 2026" will take place on November 21 (Saturday) at the Vilnius club "Tamsta".
Scott Kinsey has gained worldwide recognition as a musician, having played for 21 years in the legendary progressive fusion/electric jazz group Tribal Tech, founded by Scott Henderson and Garry Willis. In 2017 and 2018, he was named one of the world's best keyboardists in reader polls by the prestigious publication Jazz Times. This keyboard virtuoso is also known for his work with Joe Zawinul (Weather Report), his own projects, and music composed for films such as Ocean’s 11 and Analyze That.

In the international project Scott Kinsey Group, founder Scott Kinsey has brought together guitarist Nir Felder, bassist Frederico Heliodoro, drummer Gergo Borlai, and vocalist Mer Sal – a group of like-minded musicians united by their focus on rhythm, sound, and spontaneous interaction.
The program will feature music from Scott Kinsey's upcoming album "Thought Distortions" (to be released before the tour), selected songs from his extensive catalog, and compositions from the Weather Report repertoire. The performances emphasize the electric texture of the pieces, rhythmic interaction, and open improvisation, drawing a direct line between the fusion legacy and a modern, forward-looking jazz sound.

The band members are well-known in the world of jazz-adjacent music. Guitarist Nir Felder has performed and recorded with artists such as Esperanza Spalding, Terri Lyne Carrington, Jack DeJohnette, and Meshelle Ndegeocello. Bassist Frederico Heliodoro has collaborated with Milton Nascimento, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Pedro Martins, and Louis Cole. The widely known and acclaimed Hungarian-born drummer Gergo Borlai is currently one of the most sought-after session musicians, having shared the stage with artists such as Nguyen Le, Frank Gambale, and Garry Willis. Singer Mer Sal contributes to the creation of sound layers with her vocals, expanding the group's dynamic range and the atmospheric depth of the music.
For jazz music fans, this concert will be a true refreshment, especially since it takes place on a weekend, when daily worries can be pushed aside for a moment to enjoy eternal jazz music performed by professionals and united by mysterious harmony.
