Jazz Cellar 11 club is taking a step into international waters, and not just anywhere, but to one of the greatest jazz capitals, London, also known as the New York of Europe. Together with the legendary London jazz club "606", which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, we will introduce the London scene to our listeners, and Lithuanian jazz musicians to London.
In March, we sent Lithuanian jazz visionary and one of the most important figures in Lithuanian jazz, pianist Dmitrij Golovanov, for a concert in London, and in November, we invite you to Jazz Cellar 11 for the return visit.
Joining our musicians D. Golovanov, A. Kryshtal, and A. Baronas as a guest will be saxophonist and flutist from London, Steve Rubie. Steve is the founder of the band Samara, which performs jazz and Brazilian music, and is an important figure in the London jazz scene. He is also the owner of the club. His creative biography includes collaborations with musicians such as Julian Joseph, Bheki Mselesu, and Liane Carroll. In 2019, he was honored with the Musician’s Company Lifetime Achievement Award for his contributions to jazz music.
Dmitrij Golovanov does not need an introduction to our regular club visitors. It is safe to say that he is not only one of the best jazz pianists in Lithuania but also one of the most well-known and active Lithuanian jazz musicians. In addition to his creative work, while also being an educator and the president of the Lithuanian Jazz Federation, Dmitrij tirelessly combines his musical career with growing the Lithuanian jazz scene and promoting the name of Lithuania abroad.
The first 30 tickets are cheaper.
The "Jazz Cellar 11" club's concert project is partially funded by the Vilnius City Municipality.
