How to create a story from your own experience that people want to hear? How to turn thoughts into a clear, engaging narrative and share it live?
Vilnius University Culture Centre invites you to a storytelling workshop with professional storyteller Milda Varnauskaitė, one of the promoters of the contemporary storytelling tradition in Lithuania.
Storytelling is more than just entertainment. It is a living form of performing art with deep traditions in various cultures around the world. Since 2018, the VU Culture Centre has been hosting storytelling salons where community members share their stories live – not by reading a text, but by telling it to the listeners.
This workshop is an opportunity to try out the role of a storyteller. It is an invitation to get acquainted with the tradition of storytelling, its principles, and practical methods that help create and tell your own stories.
In the workshop:
You will get acquainted with the genre of live storytelling and its tradition.
You will learn how to structure a narrative and discover its core message.
You will practically test storytelling methods.
You will learn to tell stories in a safe and supportive environment.
You will meet other people interested in the culture of live storytelling.
Who is the workshop for?
For everyone who wants to better understand the principles of storytelling and learn how to tell stories live. Whether you already attend the VU Culture Centre storytelling salons or are hearing about them for the first time, this workshop is for those who want to try the path of a storyteller.
