The Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania, together with the Wawel Royal Castle – State Art Collection (Zamek Królewski na Wawelu – Państwowe Zbiory Sztuki) and the Polish Institute in Vilnius (Instytut Polski w Wilnie), invites visitors to discover the southern neighbor of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and the Kingdom of Poland – the Ottoman Empire.
The exhibition displays more than 60 authentic treasures: paintings, textiles, goldsmith and ceramic works, coins and medals, and weapons from the collections of the Wawel Royal Castle and the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania. The axis and culmination of the exhibition is a unique, the only fully preserved in Europe, 17th-century first-half oval two-masted Turkish tent, which is believed to have belonged to the Grand Vizier of the Ottoman Empire, Kara Mustafa (1634/1635–1683).
