IMPRO241 | SEASON 16 SHOW - First times for sixteen seasons. And we still don't know what will happen on stage. To be honest, it would be a bit suspicious if we did.
IMPRO241 already started its 16th season in September, and on October 29th, we meet where many stories have begun that didn't exist in anyone's mind five minutes ago. Actors, live music, a stage, and you!
Show theme: first times, where the improvisation show script is born here and now, and the audience becomes its co-authors. You suggest a place, a character, a situation, or just a strange thought – we take it to the stage and see where it leads. Sometimes to the kitchen. Sometimes to space. Sometimes to a very awkward family anniversary. And most importantly – what you see that evening will never happen again.
On stage – the impro241 quartet:
BENAS RUPEIKIS: a person for whom improvisation is somewhat like snowboarding down a hill: you can prepare, but from a certain moment on, you just have to be in the moment and react to what is happening.
SILVIJA ŠUMSKIENĖ: started teaching improvisation back in 2012 and over those years has become convinced that "I don't know" is sometimes a much more interesting start than "I have everything planned."
EGLĖ KORDIUKOVAITĖ: has compared improvisation to riding a bike downhill – without hands and with eyes closed. In short: a decision-making method that we probably wouldn't recommend in traffic rules, but it works perfectly on stage.
EIMANTAS SAKALAUSKAS: for him, improvisation is a creative sport where not only the head works. Word, body, attention, movement, sound, partner – all of this becomes material for the stage.
And the fifth person who was also not given A script:
SAULIUS SAKAS – he improvises along with the actors. Music can start a scene, save it, change the genre, or lead it where no one invited it. More about the Impro241 studio:
IMPRO241 on stage since 2010. During that time, stages, audiences, themes, people, and lives have changed. One principle has remained unchanged: 2… 4… 1… LET'S GO!
