H-Blockx to hold a concert in Vilnius: from 90s hits to a new chapter for the band
One of the most prominent German alternative rock and metal bands of the 90s, H-Blockx, is coming to Lithuania. On March 9, you will be able to hear the band's hits like "Risin’ High", "Move", "Little Girl", and others live – H-Blockx will perform at "Kablys". The band is not coming to Lithuania solely out of nostalgia – this year, after a fourteen-year hiatus, H-Blockx released a new album, "Fillin_the_Blank", which reached number 3 on the German album charts.
Ticket sales for the H-Blockx concert in Vilnius will begin on September 16 at 10:00 AM across the entire Bilietai.lt network. Subscribers to the "L Tips Agency" newsletter will be able to purchase tickets in advance starting September 14.
The history of H-Blockx began in Münster in the early 90s, and their big breakthrough came in 1994 with the release of their debut album, "Time to Move". The band's sound, which combined alternative rock and metal with rap elements, became a prominent part of the heavier alternative music scene of that time, and the music videos for "Risin’ High" and "Move" were aired on MTV.
"Time to Move" stayed on the German charts for 62 weeks and sold more than 750,000 copies worldwide. In 1995, H-Blockx was nominated for an MTV Europe Music Award in the "Best Breakthrough Artist" category. Over more than three decades, the band has released numerous albums, toured throughout Europe, and established itself in the German alternative metal and rap metal scene.
However, the current H-Blockx does not want to live solely on their 90s legacy. In 2024, the band held a 30th-anniversary tour for their debut album "Time to Move", and returning to their early songs became an impulse for new creativity.
"That's when it became clear to me how the new H-Blockx album should sound: we had to return to our own DNA, to our essence," says the band's drummer and producer, Steddy.
The result is "Fillin_the_Blank", released on March 6, 2026, the band's first studio album in fourteen years. In it, H-Blockx returns to the sound that became their trademark – powerful guitar riffs, a fusion of rock, metal, and rap, and catchy choruses. The album reached number 3 on the German charts – the highest position in the band's entire career.
The album opens with "Straight_Outta_Nowhere" – a song whose title aptly describes the band's own comeback. "Just like in the days of our debut, when we appeared as if out of nowhere, we feel exactly the same way now. Perhaps after so many years of silence, people don't expect much from the band anymore. But to us, everything feels just as intense as it did at the very beginning," says H-Blockx vocalist Henning Wehland.
More than three decades after "Time to Move", H-Blockx is taking the stage with new music, yet they haven't lost the energy that started the band's history. The Lithuanian audience will be able to experience that same energy live on March 9 at "Kablys".
