On the evening of November 27th, the Downtown Piano Lab will be filled with elegant swing rhythms, French romance, and the vibrant energy of improvisation. The quartet "Swingin' Pines" will present the program "Midnight in Paris," transporting listeners to nighttime Paris – its cozy cafes, bustling streets, and music-filled clubs.
The concert will feature the expressive vocals of Gabija Baužaitė, the virtuosic accordion of Nerijus Bakula, the guitar of Aidas Tamulevičius, and the rich sound of Aistis Kondratas' double bass. The musical dialogue between the four performers promises not only subtle romance but also temperamental rhythms, unexpected improvisations, and the true joy of live performance.
The evening's program will feature music inspired by Django Reinhardt and other "gypsy jazz" masters, traditional swing classics, and contemporary interpretations of works from the repertoires of Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Prima, Cyrille Aimée, Pink Martini, and others. Melodies from different eras and cultures will be united by the quartet's distinctive style, allowing well-known music to sound fresh.
This is an evening for those who miss a close connection with performers, refined European jazz, and music capable of changing the mood in an instant.
