When hearing the words "goregrind" or "grindcore," some might think of the legendary "Last Days of Humanity" or "Carcass."
However, most people's thoughts will turn to "Gutalax," associated with the subgenre "pornogrind," which encompasses feces, explicit pornography, and other nonsense. It is said that "Gutalax" destroyed the goregrind scene because they became the main grindcore band...
"Hazmat" suits, flying toilet paper, stage diving, carrying "ToiToi" toilets in their hands… This is a standard "Gutalax" concert.
This band from the Czech Republic is, without a doubt, one of the most impressive and fun bands in their genre. However, the aforementioned visual attractions are not the only thing they offer – the band can also boast a fairly solid goregrind discography, absolutely repulsive, heavy, with sprinter tempos, and demonstrating vocals that change pitch or even imitate frogs or pig grunting.
"Gutalax" formed in 2009, and the band members decided that if they wanted to play full-fledged goregrind, why not name the band after a laxative.
In 2010, the band released their debut album, and a year later, their first full-length album, "Shit Beast." Brutal goregrind, combined with a characteristic image, immediately attracted the attention of not only fans of the genre but others as well.
Since 2012, the Czech band has been regularly touring throughout Europe, and since then, three more albums have been released – 2015's "Shit Happens!," 2021's "The Shitpendables," and 2025's "The Best (S)hits."
